UPDATE:
Dave and the nice people at SFReader have added a forum to their website just for little old me. You can help START the goodness by going there and posting. You might also want to read some of the reviews – pretty good stuff. (Those reviews have saved me a penny or two and cost me a penny or two, so it evens out.)
Behave over there or I’ll wave the Old Man Stick at you.
And, this just in: Zombie Monkey Projects reflects on TCSFC.
***
Homage to John Scalzi’s Old Man’s War intended.
Yes, I’m tooting my own horn here (you’ll only have to put up with it for a day or two longer).
Not only did Wil Wheaton (!gosh!) get Cory Doctorow (!OMG!) to put up a link on Boing Boing, but I entirely missed the fact that SFSignal – one of the better SF news sites out there – featured it yesterday as well!
Now all I need is Scalzi at Whatever to give me a mention and I have a grand slam!
Not to mention that I’ve been visited by some interesting bloggers – like Dan Taylor (cool pirat comics)
and the fact that SFReader (who I review for btw, just sayin) is adding a forum to their site for the Classic Science Fiction Channel (all of you who emailed me will receive a notification when its up and, of course, it will be linked here and on the site as well), and the forum at Ray Gun Revival keeps on banging the drum
(You’ll be seeing some ad links as well to places that understand what Classic SF is all about. Cool ads from cooler sites that will provide you hours of no-cost science fiction fun.)
and the coverage its been getting in threads on SFFWorld and absolutely not to mention the kind of things that people had to say:
“I’ll keep this as short as possible, because I can rant for half an hour about how much the programming stinks on the Sci-Fi Channel. I agree with the majority of what you say on the subject on your site. You should hear me when they show “pro” wrestling!” – Paul
“SciFi Channel is to SciFi what MTV is to Music. Related in name only.” – Deke
“A friend sent me a link to your site. Lots of fun! I didn’t know so much was on line.” – Tobin
“thanks for doing this. I too gave up on the SciFi channel.” – Mark
“I wholeheartedly agree with your view of the Sci Fi channel. As for their attempt to “widen their base”, I’ve personally believed they’ve been altering the definition of science fiction for years. I mean c’mon, “Field of Dreams” is not science fiction.” – Grant
– and that is just a small sample.
So it looks like TCSFC is going places. Forum coming soon. Help me keep it going. Come to the blog and comment. Go to the site and watch. Tell me what you think. I want to hear it – I really do.
BTW – I ended up having chicken nuggets for dinner tonite – there just wasn’t time to make the cornbeef brisket I’d originally planned on.
Those chicken nuggets will kill’ya boy!`
Good goddamn work, I love it.
Keep the rants coming and keep the shows and movies coming.
Of course you have to add public domain shot stories and novels. ( take your time, I know you have a lot on your plate.)
Let me know if you need a hand.
hmmm.
I’ve already got a bunch of public domain radio shows.
I’ll put that in the blog tomorrow and pose the question.
Corned beef brisket? Public domain radio shows? I’m drooling in Borg. “Resistance is fu… I say, is that brisket?”
Johne,
Mmmm yes. And day before yesterday it was potroast made in the crockpot and the day before that it was teriyaki-marinated chicken strips and brussel sprouts…
